I survived May the Fourth with First Fridays at the Exchange and Cinco de Mayo!
Spring finally decided it was time to show up. It's been pretty dry and everything is pretty dusty from winter. I see lots of folks outside on the weekends, getting yards cleaned up with their families hoping for rain.
I decided to finally put in rain barrels on Earth Day a couple of weekends ago. There are some really great tutorials on YouTube demonstrating how to modify 55 gallon food grade barrels into rain barrels. With a few trips to Rona jimmy-rigging some fittings, I made 2 because I never go small.
Of course, now that I put them up, it hasn't rained here since.
In an effort to slough off some winter weight and feel more energized, I've started walking. There's a terrific trail in St. James that just goes on for miles. Also, not far from this trail is a few tap rooms along the way. So, today I coerced a friend into joining me for a happy little jaunt to Half Pints for a Lemon Zinger (shandy) nooner. As I really had zero interest in listening to my head, I followed my stomach over to La Belle Baguette a few blocks away on Ness. I ordered a bread pudding and a chocolate eclair for the friend I roped into on this particular excursion and a loaf of sour dough rye. I DID wait until I made it back home to eat the pudding.
It was delicious. I swear.
Onto more important things: Yarn
I have been brewing up some fun the last while and trying my hand at some self-striping.
This lil' guy was a fun experiment and I may have pulled a hamstring in an effort to turn this experiment into exercise. *Don't ask, I feel kinda stupid about it.* I want to make a few more colourways before making actual listings and get a better system of creating these wonders before making them available for sale.
